Your new school
Lift Percy Shurmer is a large two-form entry primary academy who currently have 450 pupils aged from 3 to 11 which also include 39 children in the Nursery and 22 deaf pupils in our Deaf Learning Base (DLB). The school is led by an ambitious and dedicated Principle, Marie Duffy who has progressed within the school. She has established a strong and personable team and in 2023 were graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted who recognised ''parents are overwhelmingly positive about the quality of education their children receive.'' We are now looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team.
Your new role

We are looking for a teaching assistant to work in partnership with teachers to improve the learning and attainment of students while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. The role provides support to students so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement. This role is vital in supporting our students and helping them achieve their potential.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a L3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent or willingness to work towards this qualification with an understanding of a range of pupil's learning needs. You will have patience in interactions with a variety of students and situations, with a calm demeanour and have empathy to understand the needs and challenges of students and be able to relate to them on a personal level. You will also be somebody who can engage and enthuse students to want to learn.
