WalkThrus are looking to strengthen operational capacity and are seeking to appoint a new Operations Director to be the operational lead for the day-to-day business of Teaching Walkthrus International, working closely with Matt Stone, Tom Sherrington, Oliver Caviglioli, and our partners at Hachette Learning to develop and support our membership community.

Key activities
Delivering on weekly and monthly services for our members. A role of the post-holder will be to maintain them, creating content, offering support and promoting services so that members know what is available to them. This will include:
- Courses: contributing to and developing our provision of courses for coaches and CPD leads. Our plan is to expand the range of courses offered to members to support their work. This includes termly Coaching with WalkThrus programme, termly WalkThrus Leads events, our new Big Classroom initiative alongside our school support work both online and in person. The postholder will be expected to plan a workable calendar of events, write course materials and deliver key aspects, supporting with the co-ordination of our team of external WalkThrus consultants and Matt/Tom/Oliver as required.
- Resources: planning and contributing to development and maintenance of WalkThrus materials. Over time, our resources will develop and as new content is provided we need to make sure that users of the website can access the tools easily. The postholder will have oversight of the resource base which could include devising new tools as well as organising existing materials and those generated by members. It’s expected that the postholder will be able to initiate and deliver projects that enhance the overall functionality of the WalkThrus toolkit responding to users’ needs.
- Clinics: offering online demonstrations and strategic support to individual schools on a bookable basis.
- Annual Conferences: working with the HEP administrative team, to build the content, organise venues and market the tickets.
- Communications: writing regular newsletters and email updates for all members, liaising with the Hachette team about publication dates, the database and deployment on the website.
- Marketing: initiating promotional activity through Twitter X, LinkedIn & BlueSky and other outlets to ensure members are aware of the services available to them. In general, we want the post-holder to be a co-owner of our social media, initiating output to inform and enthuse members.
- Finance: undertaking some routine functions such as invoicing schools and checking that the books are balanced for our training and consultancy operations.
Terms
Full-time 52-week contract: 30 days holiday with flexible working around holidays.
We support flexible working in terms of the mix of working from home and attending the office in Haringey, London, at least once per month. Location is very flexible with some London office meeting time required for key events and planning sessions.
Salary Range £60k – £70k depending on experience.
This comes with an excellent pension plan. Routine travel costs to London need to be met by the employee but where events such as conferences and consultancy visits require overnight trips, costs will be met by TWI.
