This is a role which involves working very closely with GCSE and A Level students aged 14-19, individually and in groups, to enable them to take the fullest advantage of all that takes place at the UTC. You will take a proactive role in ensuring that students have full access to the curriculum and their examinations, working closely with teachers and other supporting professionals to identify and meet student needs. You will be somebody who is able to build positive relationships with young people while maintaining firm boundaries so that alongside their academic development, they are well-prepared for life beyond the UTC. You will help our students to work well as part of a team, with mutual respect; to understand their own rights and work for the rights of others, and to build the skills necessary for independent study.
The role of LSA can be challenging but incredibly rewarding so this position will suit somebody with a cheerful outlook, personal resilience and excellent communication skills. You would be part of a small but experienced and supportive SEND team. We welcome applications from candidates with any level of experience, and offer training and mentoring for the successful candidate.
