https://www.sgscol.ac.uk/ SGS College's Finance department has an opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer (Income), to support with student debt management. This varied role (one of four Finance Officers in the Income Team) is primarily responsible for ensuring that all student related income within the College is recovered. We are looking for someone with a good knowledge and experience of credit control, who has excellent team working skills and is also able to perform on their own initiative. A confident knowledge of IT (particularly Excel) is essential. You will be required to report student debt to the Income Team Leader; follow up on outstanding student debt with learners, parents/guardians and sponsoring organisations; operate within the defined debt management procedures; advise and influence colleagues from other departments within the College; and liaise with external customers.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities - To operate the College debt control procedures to ensure all student debts are recovered at the earliest opportunity.
- To negotiate with, and influence, debtors - ensuring timely payments are made to the College.
- To ensure queries from debtors are followed up and resolved on a timely basis in accordance with Financial Procedures.
- To set up instalment plans in accordance with approved procedures and liaise with Finance colleagues to ensure new instalment plans are tracked and monitored.
- To provide an efficient and professional income service to students and staff.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications - Experience of credit control and accounts receivable.
- Experience of income management and procedures.
- GCSE Maths and English grade C or above or equivalent.
- Part qualified CCAB or AAT qualification.
- Well organised, quickly adaptable with a keen eye for accuracy.
