The Reach Foundation is seeking a Trustee with expertise in educational leadership and/or community programme development expertise.
About The Reach Foundation
The Reach Foundation builds individual, organisational and systemic capacity to deliver innovative, place-based models of ‘cradle to career’ support—grounded in great schools. Working in partnership with the community, existing institutions and local professionals—and our academy trust, Reach Schools—the Foundation has shown that it is possible to improve children’s outcomes across a range of domains while enhancing the capacity of children’s families and their communities to sustain better outcomes in the long run.
About the Trustee role
As a Trustee, you'll help shape strategy, support governance, and contribute to our vision for systemic change.
The Board of Trustees meets for at least three regular meetings per year. Further to this, the Board of Trustees may also meet for additional away days or meetings. Trustees are also invited to join Committees of the Board focused on particular programmes. Meetings are usually held through a combination of in-person and virtual formats. Strategy meetings are held in-person in central London.
We are keen to recruit an individual who is based outside London, and our Trustee Expenses Policy means that we can support costs relating to travel and accommodation.
Personal specification
We recognise that charity Boards work best as a collective decision-making body when a range of skills and perspectives are represented. The Board would welcome applications from a range of prospective Trustees, and we have a particular interest in candidates with the following knowledge/skill sets:
- Expertise in educational leadership and/or community programme development expertise.
- Existing awareness of our work, perhaps having engaged with our leadership and/or cradle-to-career programmes in some way.
Informed by our commitment to diversity and equality, we would particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups and welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.
Please refer to the job description for further details.
If you have any questions, or to apply, please email Anna.Machin@reachacademy.org.uk by Wednesday 30th April.
