Oasis Academy Brightstowe is seeking to appoint a committed and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic Inclusion team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead specialist teaching and learning provisions for students with learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory, or physical challenges.
Whether you have extensive experience working with young people or are looking to develop your expertise in a specialist role, we welcome individuals who are motivated to make a genuine difference and foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
The Role- You will work closely with classroom teachers to support the teaching, learning, and assessment of individual students or groups. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored learning activities to support student progress
- Contributing to planning, monitoring, and assessment cycles
- Supporting student participation, behaviour, and engagement
- Leading special projects and developing specialist expertise within the academy
- Assisting in curriculum development and learning provision
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who:
- Has successful experience working with young people, ideally within a school environment
- Holds an NVQ/VRQ Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (TA Foundation Degree desirable)
- Has substantial experience working as a Teaching Assistant at NVQ Level 3, including supporting large groups or whole classes
- Works effectively as part of a team
- Encourages and motivates learning with high expectations of behaviour
- Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and strong organisational skills
- Shows emotional resilience when working with challenging behaviours
- Is available 5 days a week, 8am - 4pm
- Builds strong relationships using excellent interpersonal skills
- Is eager to learn the latest teaching and behaviour management strategies
- Is passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives
- Supports and models the Oasis ethos
