Job Title: Lead Subject Mentor for MFL
Salary Grade: £3500 per annum plus £1250 per trainee.
Employment options: - Secondment from employing school: Your school agrees to release you from your timetable/duties for dedicated hours/days to carry out this role. Payment will be made to your school in three termly instalments upon receipt of an invoice.
- Self-employed contractor: As a self-employed contractor, you would submit monthly invoices for payment but would be responsible for your own tax affairs.
Work location: South West Teacher Training (SWTT), West Exe School.
Appointment type: Part time
Term: Fixed Term for one academic year.

Lead Subject Mentor, you will be a key player in our mission to provide top-tier training that empowers new teachers to thrive in the classroom. Working in partnership with schools across the South West, we offer high-quality initial teacher training leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through PGCE and employment-based courses.
What You'll Be Doing: - Inspiring and guiding the next generation of teachers to develop their confidence and expertise.
- Tracking and supporting trainee progress to ensure rapid and sustained development.
- Empowering school-based mentors, helping them to shape and support trainees effectively.
- Engaging with our incredible partner schools, building strong relationships to enhance training experiences.
- Delivering high-quality training sessions, ensuring our trainees are equipped with cutting-edge teaching strategies.
- Recruiting and selecting outstanding future teachers to join our programme.

This part-time role requires
availability for one day a week during term time. We offer flexible arrangements, including secondments for candidates currently in teaching roles.
Prior experience in Initial Teacher Training is preferred but not essential - if you're an outstanding secondary practitioner with a passion for developing others, we'd love to hear from you.
