We've got a brilliant opportunity for a
Headteacher to join our thriving Multi Academy Trust at
Sidegate Primary School in
Ipswich. If you are an experienced Headteacher and feel ready for a new adventure, we'd love to hear from you.
This isn't just another role. It's a chance to do something that matters - to shape lives, open doors, and build brighter futures for children who deserve the very best.
We're looking for a hearts-led leader who believes in the transformative power of education - and who wants to be part of something much bigger than themselves. Someone who knows that education isn't just about results on paper, but about creating schools where children feel seen, supported and inspired - and where staff feel trusted, valued and encouraged to be their best selves too.
This is a rare chance to make your mark in an organisation where values aren't wallpaper - they're the walls.
This is a role for someone who wants to make their mark without going it alone. You'll be part of a team-first culture, where your voice matters as much as your data, and where joy in the work is just as important as the work itself.
If you're dreaming of a leadership role where:
- You're not isolated, but part of a strong, kind team
- You belong to a community where teamwork is real
- Courageous leadership and collaboration aren't "nice-to-haves" - they're how we work
- And the kettle is always on (tea or coffee, no judgement)
Then let's have a conversation about the future you could help shape - one child, one school, one purposeful step at a time.
Visits to see our fabulous school in action are strongly encouraged. For an informal discussion about this exciting opportunity, please contact Rae Aldous, Director of Primary Education ( rae.aldous@activelearningtrust.org ) or Duncan Low, Director of Education ( duncan.low@activelearningtrust.org ). The Active Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. We expect all staff to actively share this commitment. All adults working in our Trust in whatever capacity will be part of a thorough safer recruitment process. All appointments will be subject to pre-employment checks including the taking of satisfactory references and enhanced criminal record clearance in line with the need to create and maintain a safe culture.
The Active Learning Trust reserves the right to interview and appoint prior to the advert closing date. With this in mind, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
To ensure we recruit and retain the best talent, all new employees recruited to the Active Learning Trust (leadership, teaching and support staff) will be subject to a 6 months' probation period at the start of their employment (except for Early Career Teachers who are subject to a Statutory Induction Period). This policy aims to assess new employees' alignment with our culture, teaching standards, and student needs. It is designed to foster success; with regular evaluations and support mechanisms in place, helping us to identify and nurture talent.
We value diversity and welcome applications from all, including those with protected characteristics under the Equality Act. Flexible working will be considered for all roles deemed suitable .
