This is a fixed term opportunity for 12 months, ideally starting 1 October 2025. For the right candidate we can offer flexibility. The Project Manager role is hybrid and can be largely worked from home, however frequent travel to Bristol will be required. This may be up to 5 days per week, depending on project progression.Fancy solidifying your expertise as a Project Manager, leading on some of our most exciting projects?
If so, we have the perfect role for you in our Strategic Projects team, focusing on the development of two schools in the Bristol area, as well as supporting the Strategic Projects team in other workstreams.
Project Management is a broad, multifaceted discipline, the skills for which can be applied across a whole range of sectors. We think Oasis is a really special place to work, but why should you prioritise a role with us?
- Oasis exists to improve the life chances of some of the most disadvantaged and overlooked in society. Young people with fantastic potential but burdened with circumstances or challenges that are simply not their fault.
- You will be surrounded and supported by peers who all share the same perspective and vision and who will be there to help you out - always
- You'll be offered flexibility and variety of work. Never a dull day at Oasis as it's a place where random stuff needs sorting by people great at sorting random stuff.
- You'll get access to a benefits offer that reflects your personal lifestyle and interests
- You'll be trusted and empowered to just get on and do a great job
- You'll get paid very fairly, receive expenses and are on the local government pension scheme
- You'll get to work with a great team including our fantastic Head of Strategic Projects
Ideally, this will suit someone who has already established their core Project Management skills and is looking to level up. Does this sound like something you're interested in? Let's see if you have what it takes!
We're looking for someone who is: - Organised and able to multi-task - it's never just one thing at a time
- A great written and verbal communicator - to write bids, prepare scoping documents, negotiate with suppliers and partners and more.
- Patient, persistent, dogged, determined - dealing with levels of bureaucracy can be wearing - so you'll need some 'resilience' at times
- Observant and astute - to be able to foresee problems and predict events before they happen.
- Attentive to detail (without being pedantic) - spotting mistakes that might derail a project is key.
- Comfortable with numbers and tech savvy working with spreadsheets, project plans, slide decks and more
- And above all - you must be brilliant at forging, maintaining and nurturing relationships. Things get done better and quicker if stakeholders, partners, clients, colleagues and random people like the way you operate.
...in practice this looks like: - Managing DfE bids to support our strategies
- Overseeing large capital projects in partnership with Property and Estates colleagues
- Working alongside our IT function to deliver exceptional technical solutions in our academies
- Working with our Education teams to create ambitious teaching spaces in our buildings
Application process We're asking candidates to submit a 500 word supporting statement, evidencing how they meet the qualities outlined above and person specification criteria in the job description. We appreciate this is a limited word count, so please use the opportunity to show off your top skills - we don't expect you to cover everything in detail.
