Thank you for your interest in joining our school. We're proud to have been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and are working to become a national leader in education. At MAP, we are driven by a clear and ambitious core belief: every student who joins us has the potential to get to and through university. While we recognise that this may not be the right path for all of our students, we firmly believe that having this option is a hallmark of a successful, high-quality education-one that enables our students to excel in top careers and live their best lives. We combine academic rigor with a joyful learning experience, ensuring our students gain the knowledge, experiences, and support needed to achieve their dreams.
We are looking a committed and passionate Behaviour Assistant to work within our large pastoral team at Marine Academy. You will be a key part of large team working with our students to ensure that their behaviour and mindset are exactly where we need them to be in order for them to succeed. This is a very rewarding role where you will have the ability to positively impact on our students in a proactive and positive manner. Student behaviour at Marine Academy is exemplary. Our leaders do not tolerate any form of disrespect, and this standard is upheld across the school. Students are exceptionally polite and are expected to greet every adult they pass and demonstrate genuine courtesy towards one another. We maintain the very highest expectations of conduct, supported by robust and well-established systems that ensure students meet these expectations every day. Rudeness towards staff or peers is not permitted under any circumstances, and students understand the importance of contributing to a calm, respectful and highly focused learning environment.
Occasionally, however, students make mistakes, and it is in these moments that the role of the Behaviour Assistant becomes crucial. Behaviour Assistants support students in reflecting on their choices, understanding the impact of their actions, and developing strategies to make better decisions in the future. They play a key role in helping students re-set and return to learning in a calm, purposeful manner. In addition, Behaviour Assistants are responsible for collating and analysing behaviour data, enabling patterns to be identified and appropriate interventions to be put in place. They work closely with the senior leader overseeing our Compass provision, ensuring the room is managed effectively and consistently, and that all students receive the guidance and structure they need to succeed.
