https://www.sgscol.ac.uk/ SGS College have an exciting opportunity for Examination Officer at our Stroud campuses.The successful candidate will ideally have excellent administration skills and experience. Previous experience of working in an examinations or educational office would be an advantage to this role as you will be expected to manage large, detailed exam-based projects with independence and initiative. The role is exciting, busy and varied and will include a focus on the operational management of all exam delivery, with the flexibility to also engage in other aspects of an exams officer role.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and time management skills; be self-motivated, be comfortable working to multiple priorities and meeting external deadlines under limited supervision. The ability to communicate at all levels (both externally and internally) is essential for this role, as is the commitment to a customer-focussed exams service, providing a calm environment to support learners to achieve.
This role will involve deputising for the Head of Cross-College Examinations and other Exam Officers, mostly leading in the tasks and responsibilities that will need achieving in various time frames, but you will be supported by an enthusiastic team of exam staff within the office.
The post holder will be based primarily at our Stroud campus, but the role may at times involve occasional travel to our WISE and Filton Campuses.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities - Liaise with students, curriculum staff and exam boards to provide a high-quality exams service, answering queries, providing information and solving problems where appropriate.
- Develop well-organised timetables and detailed yet succinct instructions to staff and students for a well-delivered and stress-free exam experience
- Manage data and resources with respect to short-term and long-term requirements, making sure to meet constant upcoming deadlines.
- Help prepare and deliver a range of different examination types, from Written Papers, Onscreen test, practical elements and external assessments.
- Ensure the timely dispatch of materials including completed exam scripts to exam boards, or certificates to students upon completion of course
- Undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as may reasonably be required
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications - Previous administration & people facing experience strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail & excellent organisational skills
- Ability to lead own workload and work independently on tasks - show strong initiative
- Proactive and willing to learn new skills
- IT literate, proficient in the use of Office 365 and ideally MIS based data systems
