Bold Voices are hiring a Head of Facilitation and Education to oversee and manage our facilitator team and education programmes in schools. In joining Bold Voices you will be part of a dynamic social impact organisation, working on the ground to change attitudes and work towards a world where young people receive an education free from misogyny, gender inequality and gender-based violence.
This is a senior role within the team and you will be responsible for leading our facilitator team and delivering our education in schools. In this role you will be reporting to our CEO and Founder and working alongside members of the Bold Voices team including our Head of Operations, Head of Projects and DSO and our freelance facilitator team. This role is mostly on the ground, with an average of 2 days a week in schools.

Key Responsibilities
Education & Programmes
- Work alongside other members of the core team to ensure our education programmes run efficiently.
- Lead Bold Voices’ education programme delivery in schools:
- Run talk and workshop delivery days in schools on average twice a week during term time.
- Ensure all operations run smoothly by overseeing the facilitator team for the day, organising logistics with the school, managing workshop resources and providing onsite support and guidance to the facilitators.
- Confidently deliver keynote talks and workshops in person and online.
- Manage any safeguarding disclosures or issues appropriately and with confidence, advocating for those involved to ensure information is passed onto DSLs and local authorities where appropriate.
- Build and maintain relationships with school partners and respond to school partner needs to sustain impact with a vision to achieving long term prevention.
- Support with development and building of Bold Voices educational content when required e.g pupil talks, workshops, webinars and resources.
- Support with impact measurement recording, reporting and strategy.
Facilitation & Facilitators
- Manage the facilitation team (10 freelance facilitators) - provide wellbeing and facilitation support.
- Assess facilitator training needs and support with navigating facilitation progression pathways.
- Develop existing facilitator support structures and policies to provide wellbeing and development support to our current facilitator team.
- Ensure support structures and policies are suitable for the freelance facilitator team as it grows.
- Work alongside and support our CEO with training and hiring plans for the facilitator team.
What do our facilitation team do?
- Our workshop facilitators are responsible for engagingly and impactfully delivering workshops rooted in academic theory and lived experience of gender inequality and gender-based violence in schools and universities.
- This delivery could be a one-off 2 hour workshop, a day delivering several workshops or consecutive days of delivery.
- Workshop facilitators are also responsible for certain administrative, preparatory and logistical tasks essential for the successful running of our workshops.

You will have a strong dedication to Bold Voices’ mission and values, along with a genuine passion for challenging structural inequality, dismantling systems of oppression and bringing others along on this journey.
Required Experience
- We’re open to non-conventional experience and expertise. We don’t require any specific educational qualifications, but we do need evidence of an excellent track record when it comes to organisation, project management and work in the youth or education sector.
- 1-2 years people management experience that includes inspiring, supporting and energising a team and ensuring values and standards are maintained during sometimes emotionally and physically demanding work.
- 2-3 years experience in workshop facilitation in schools and public speaking with young people on topics of equity, social justice and structural oppression.
- Safeguarding experience.

Knowledge Required
- A passion for understanding, learning about and discussing the topics that we deliver on; gender stereotypes/norms, gendered language, masculinity and femininity, misogyny, media and popular culture, digital experiences of sexual violence, objectification, consent, cultures of gender-based violence and more.
- Hold knowledge about best practice social justice education which is inclusive, and has a youth-centred critical pedagogy.
- Confidence in having critical discussions about systems of oppression including misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and ableism with children and young people aged 10-19.
- An awareness of how visible and invisible identities shape how knowledge and conversation is received by young people and how it is delivered and facilitated by workshop facilitators
Communication & Facilitation Skills Required
- Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to be approachable and gentle when challenging, encouraging participants to think critically.
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and manage conflict constructively, holding polarities and taking oppressive structures into consideration.
- Be comfortable navigating difficult identity based conversations and discussions with young people and the team.
- Ability to respond to difficult and sensitive questions without shutting down conversation and support participants to work through disagreements for a positive outcome.
- Confidence to manage complex emotions and needs of a group of young learners.
- High level of emotional intelligence and an awareness of how to create challenging, fun and engaging learning spaces for all young people.
- Confident in public speaking and holding the attention of a room of young people and adults.
