About the Role
The successful candidate will:
- Teach French across KS3–KS5, including A-Level.
- Contribute to the planning and development of engaging schemes of work and high‑quality MFL resources.
- Support effective collaborative practice within departmental meetings.
- Maintain excellent standards of classroom management and the care of teaching spaces.
- Ensure the effective use and maintenance of teaching materials, technology and language learning software.
- Participate actively in ongoing professional development, including language‑specific training.
- Serve as a Form Tutor, contributing to the pastoral wellbeing of students.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils in line with statutory and school policies.
- Play a full role in the co‑curricular life of the school, including:
- Language clubs
- Cultural events
- Trips abroad and enrichment opportunities
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Modern Foreign Languages (or equivalent).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching French across KS3–KS5, including A‑Level.
- Demonstrable track record of inspiring pupils to excel in MFL.
- Strong subject knowledge of French language, culture and pedagogy.
- Desirable: Ability to teach Spanish at KS3/KS4.
