Teacher of Physical Education
Wellington College is a dynamic, innovative boarding and day school where ambition, kindness and curiosity shape every aspect of our community. We are seeking an inspiring Teacher of Physical Education to join our vibrant Sport & PE Department and help deliver an exceptional programme that fosters wellbeing, enjoyment and lifelong engagement in sport.
The Sport & PE Department is an energetic and forward-thinking team offering a broad range of performance and participation opportunities for pupils. Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, the College benefits from outstanding facilities that support both high-level coaching and inclusive participation. Within this collaborative environment, you will play a central role in designing and delivering engaging lessons that develop physical literacy, movement skills and tactical understanding, while nurturing confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
Life in a boarding and day school is varied, community-focused and deeply rewarding. You will contribute to the wider sporting life of the College, coaching at least one major sport and supporting weekday and Saturday fixtures. A meaningful part of your role will also involve contributing to the pastoral and co-curricular experience of pupils, guiding them to demonstrate teamwork, integrity and respect in all areas of College life. Your commitment to forming supportive relationships with pupils will underpin your ability to inspire progress and personal development both on and off the field.
Professional growth is highly valued at Wellington, and you will join a department that embraces reflection, collaboration and innovation. You will have the opportunity to develop your practice, share expertise with colleagues and play a part in shaping the future of sport and physical education at the College. Above all, you will embody and promote our core values of kindness, integrity, respect, responsibility and courage in everything you do.
