We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of History to join our History Department which comprises ten specialists with diverse research interests. History is compulsory in Year 9, with a wide-ranging curriculum shaped by teacher expertise. Pupils study Cambridge IGCSE History in Years 10-11 and OCR A Level in Years 12-13, with strong enrolment at both stages. Outcomes are outstanding, with consistently excellent GCSE and A Level results and a strong Oxbridge and Russell Group record. Scholarship is enriched through trips, societies, visiting speakers, publications and partnerships, supported by excellent library resources and close collaboration within the Humanities Faculty.
The successful applicant will be expected to possess the ability to teach GCSE and A level History. At GCSE, we follow the CIE IGCSE syllabus (0977). At A level, we follow the OCR syllabus and currently teach units on the Crusades, Pitt to Peel and US Civil Rights.
