Clerk to the Local Governing Body - Gosford Hill School

Gosford Hill School is seeking a dedicated and professional Clerk to the Local Governing Body. This role is vital in providing high-quality advice and administrative support to the Local Governing Body to ensure our school is governed effectively and in accordance with legal requirements.
Our Governing Board plays a vital role in the strategic leadership of the school and we are seeking to appoint an organised, impartial and dedicated Clerk to support the board.
The Clerk to the Governors is a key role, providing administrative, procedural and legislative support to ensure the board operates efficiently and in line with statutory requirements. You will work closely with the Chair of Governors and the Headteacher to plan meetings, prepare documents, record decisions accurately and offer guidance on governance compliance.
This is a part-time, permanent contract, which requires flexibility around the meeting schedule. Currently, there are 6 Local Governing Body meetings and 3 Committee (Budget Scrutiny) Meetings per year. Full Board Meetings usually take place on Mondays with a 6:00 pm start time. The hours are flexible and allow some working from home. Meetings in school with the Chair and/or Headteacher may be required in preparation for meetings.
The successful candidate will have excellent administrative skills, be highly organised and methodical, be confident using IT systems and able to work independently. You will be a strong communicator with excellent written skills, be discreet, professional and able to maintain confidentiality.

Knowledge or experience regarding school governance is desirable although a comprehensive training programme will be provided by RLT.
