The Estates department at Wellington College is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to help care for and enhance our busy, diverse and vibrant campus.
Wellington College is a dynamic and forward‑thinking community where every member of staff plays a meaningful part in shaping the exceptional environment enjoyed by our pupils, staff and visitors. Rooted in values of ambition, kindness and curiosity, the College brings together talented colleagues who are committed to delivering excellence across all aspects of school life.
Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, our 400‑acre estate is a unique and inspiring place to work. The Estates Department sits at the heart of this environment, supporting the safe and efficient running of buildings, facilities and outdoor spaces across the College. Its work directly contributes to the comfort, safety and experience of our community every day.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play an important hands‑on role in maintaining the high standards of presentation, functionality and safety across our estate. You will support day‑to‑day repairs, contribute to small projects and refurbishment activity, and help ensure that our facilities remain welcoming, reliable and fit for purpose. Working in a school brings a unique sense of purpose, and you will be part of a professional, collaborative team committed to providing an exceptional service to pupils, staff and visitors.
You will be someone who takes pride in practical, high‑quality work and enjoys the variety that comes with a large and multifaceted estate. The role involves responding to maintenance requests, carrying out repairs with care and accuracy, and supporting the wider team to plan and deliver tasks efficiently. You will bring good communication skills, a positive and adaptable approach, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
In return, you will join an experienced team where your contribution is valued and where you will have access to training, development and support to continue building your skills. Working in a boarding school setting means no two days are the same, and there are many opportunities to play a meaningful part in the life of the College.
