We are looking for a skilled and patient Visual Impairment Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Clacton Coastal Academy.
About the role:
- You will provide specialist teaching and support to a pupil with a vision impairment, who accesses the curriculum through Braille.
- You'll work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt teaching materials and create individual learning programmes.
- You’ll help the pupil develop essential skills in Braille, technology, and independent learning.

- You're passionate about inclusive education and ensuring every child can thrive.
- You have experience working with learners, ideally those with special educational needs.
- You're a skilled communicator who can build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
- You're patient, proactive, and committed to helping the pupil achieve their full potential

Clacton Coastal Academy is a rapidly improving school at the heart of the community and recently achieved ‘Good’ (June 2024). The school has experienced significant growth and improvement with student numbers now over 1,500.
